When a company is spread out across ten countries and three continents, systematic knowledge gathering is required to enable it to act as a single strong organisation across borders

One, coherent strategy

Nemko (Norges Elektriske Materiellkontroll) was established as a Norwegian company in 1933. Since then, Nemko has literally grown beyond all bounds and now serves customers all over the world.

One of the key efforts that enable the company to maintain this growth is the use of comprehensive surveys of both customers and employees in the various markets – good business and good management are not necessarily the same in South Korea as they are in Norway, for example. In collaboration with Ramboll, Nemko has thus identified opportunities and challenges, market by market.

This has enabled it to develop a consistent overarching strategy supported by HR and CRM strategies at the market level. In other words, Nemko followed a targeted approach that involved drawing on a range of Ramboll’s competencies along the way.

The result is motivated employees who perform – regardless of whether they are based in Seoul or Oslo – and healthy customer relationships all over the world.
